This project envisions a trauma-informed educational environment tailored for unhoused communities. The goal was to create a space that fosters safety, healing, and learning, drawing inspiration from the concept of a cocoon as a protective and nurturing environment.
Design Approach:
Grounded in research on trauma-informed design principles, the space incorporates soft, natural materials, calming color palettes, and flexible layouts to accommodate various learning and therapeutic activities. Biophilic elements and natural light are integrated to promote well-being and connection to nature.

Modular furniture for adaptable learning configurations
Quiet zones for reflection and counseling
Use of sustainable, non-toxic materials
